I'm having trouble logging in
Portico now uses a more secure way to sign in than passwords. Passwords can be hard to remember and are often insecure. Email secure link sign in has become popular because it is safer then passwords and works well on all platforms including mobile.
How it works:
- A unique sign in link is created for you.
- A sign in link is sent to your email address.
- Click the link in the email and you are logged in.
- The sign in link expires after a short amount of time.
- The sign in link can only be used once.
On occasion, our login confirmation emails don't reach a user's inbox, and this is usually due to email filters, either at the individual level or at the company or server level. There are a couple of things you can do to ensure that you receive the emails:
- Check your spam folder for the message, as it may have been erroneously flagged. Mark the message as "not spam" (or equivalent in your email reader) to transfer it to your inbox.
- If you require senders to be vetted before receiving emails from them, or if you have spam protection enabled, please add support@healthymaterials.net to your safe sender list.
- If you do not have spam protection enabled for your individual account, or if you still are not receiving the email after resubmitting the login form following the steps above, please contact your IT administrator for assistance, as there may be additional filters at the company or server level that are preventing your receipt of the email.
If you prefer, Portico also provides the option of logging in with a Google account instead of using email confirmations. This does not need to be a Gmail account, and in fact, any email address can be used (we recommend keeping the email address that you registered with). For more information see https://accounts.google.com/signupwithoutgmail.
The 404 you see from the email confirmation could be the result of one of these reasons:
-
Your login token may have expired. Portico email confirmation links contain an embedded token which is linked to your user account. This token expires after thirty minutes.
-
Your email server may use a URL protection service. Some corporate email servers apply a URL protection service to incoming emails, which may scope out the link in advance before redirecting you to Portico. This can interfere with the one-time use policy of the authentication token in your confirmation link. To get around this, you may be able to add our domain (healthymaterials.net) to your server's safe sender list, or you can copy and paste the link into your browser directly rather than clicking on it.
What now?
-
Try again. Re-enter your email address in the Portico login form to generate a new email confirmation. Be sure to find the email within thirty minutes, and to only click on it once.
-
Or you can try logging in with a Google account instead. Portico also provides the option of logging in with a Google account instead of using email confirmation. This does not need to be a Gmail account, and in fact any email address can be used (we recommend keeping the email address that you registered with).
